Ice Cream Sandwich: Google Peer-to-Peer NFC Sharing

Imagine sharing information on your phone with another phone or tablet PC just by putting the two devices next to each other, well you may not have to imagine for very much longer.

Google are developing peer-to-peer NFC sharing, which they hope to incorporate with the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android. How it works, well if you want to share contacts, web pages and even YouTube videos it will be as easy as just placing two NFC-equipped Android devices beside each other, and then watching the data transfer automatically.

With this new technology, there will be no need for you to navigate through the UI or to launch an application in order to transfer information from one device to another.

In the article by the guys at Engadget they go on to say that Google are planning to incorporate this functionality into as many systems apps as they can, whilst providing API to developers to enable them to be able to 0-click their third-party applications.

Why not head on down below to watch a video of the new NFC sharing function in action, please let us know what you think.
