Etymotic Research Presents BlastLPG EarPlugs for Soliders

Etymotic Research demonstrated its new line of BlastLPG EarPlugs this week at CES, winning a 2011 Innovations Award at the show. The earplugs are aimed at troops and soldier’s who usually forgo ear protection for combat responsiveness.

There are two versions of Etymotic’s Blast Plug. The EB15 set is for continuous loud noise such as machinery and military vehicles and also need protection against gunfire and explosions. The EB1 is for sudden noises such as hunters who want to hear naturally and be protected from sudden firearm blasts when there isn’t time to insert hearing protection.

Electronic BlastPLG earplugs are sold on the Etymotic Research website. MSRP is $449 for the EB1 and $499 for the EB15.
