Samsung has announced a new prototype 10.1 inch tablet display, which features the highest resolution so far for a tablet, this new display features a massive 2560 x 1600 WQXGA resolution.
This new tablet display from Samsung uses a PenTile RGBW tablet display, and it features a 300dpi resolution, so we can expect to see this new display in future Samsung tablets and also probably the iPad 3.
“In order to develop tablets with the form and function that consumers demand, a design engineer ultimately has to determine how to get the highest resolution display possible, while still fitting within the overall power budget for their design,” said Joel Pollack, executive vice president of Nouvoyance, Samsung’s affiliate company that developed the PenTile RGBW technology.
It looks like this new tablet display will also feature an outdoor viewing mode, which will boost brightness, it certainly will be interesting to see what these new displays look like.
