Micro-P managing director Gerry O’Keeffe believes it could be a tough year but one the industry is prepared for
“We will all be buffeted by freshening winds in 2011.
But this storm has been on the horizon for a couple of years so we should be prepared.
It’ll be a time to maintain a steady course and hold tight.
We’ll all be very close to our credit insurers, I’m sure.
“We will see an explosion in tablets and there’ll be an epic battle on the high street as traditional smartphone and computer retailers strive for control of the converged space.
It will be fascinating to see where the sweet spots evolve.
These new devices will however create whole new opportunities for mobile data applications in the workplace and mobile entertainment for consumers.
“The drive to virtual services and an OPEX rather than CAPEX model (the cloud) will accelerate the adoption of converged IT and communications in the hitherto reticent SME sector.”
