Piers Linney, chief of Microsoft gold partner and hosted services provider Outsourcery, says the unified comms market will be defined by a small number of lead providers in the year ahead
“Mobiles are increasingly an extension of ICT infrastructure. To suppliers, service differentiation will be crucial.
“An increasingly valuable share of the market will no longer be driven by price.
“Winners will be those that have committed resource to change early.
“The benefits of replacing on-premise ICT kit will be drilled in to the business consciousness.
“Customers will increasingly expect a cloud alternative and advisers to deliver converged solutions that reduce costs and increase productivity.
“The shift from on-premise ICT to outsourced solutions will accelerate. Their supply requires economies of scale.
“There will be room for only a handful of providers. Best-of-breed suppliers will emerge.
“Much of what has been described as the future of ICT already exists, deployed from cloud platforms.
“The cloud ICT revolution, with mobiles running enterprise apps, will be a major driver in 2011 and set the course of a market that will continuously evolve over the next decade.”
