After months of rumors and denials, HTC has announced the forthcoming launch of the HTC Salsa and ChaCha with Facebook integration which consists of a dedicated Facebook button, modified HTC Sense interface with automatic feed integration and automatic media uploads to Facebook.
Both feature quadband GSM/EDGE and dualband European 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0+HS with stereo audio support; 5.0 megapixel cameras with autofocus, flash, and VGA front-facing cameras; gyroscope, compass, proximity and light sensors; 600MHz processors of unknown origin, 3.5mm headphone jacks, and microSD card slots. Both devices also run the latest version of HTC’s Sense user interface with deep Facebook integration.
The Salsa features a 3.4-inch touch display at 320 x 480 resolution, while the ChaCha is a candy bar QWERTY phone with a full keyboard for messaging and a 2.6-inch touch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution. HTC has also confirmed that AT&T will launch both phones exclusively in the US with no timeframe given for launch.
