AT&T Surges on $39 Billion Deal for T-Mobile, U.S. Wireless Market Lead
AT&T is now the largest mobile phone carrier in the US. Well, technically not yet, but once their acquisition of T-Mobile is approved and finalized, they soon will be. This is definitely a win-win situation for both carriers, though I’m not too sure if T-Mobile subscribers sees this merger as advantageous to them as it is for Deutsche Telekom. Anyway, this landmark acquisition is still expected to face government scrutiny so anything’s still possible.

Nexus S Pre-Registration Page Live at Samsung Canada
The title just about says it all. Those interested in getting the newest Google phone, the Nexus S, can already pre-registered online to be informed when it becomes available in the country. No exact release date was mentioned, but this is as good as sign as any that it’s just around the corner.

LG Thrill 4G with 3D display, HTC HD7S Windows Phone headed to AT&T
They may not mention it outright, but based on its specs, the LG Thrill 4G is basically a rebranded version of the 3D-enabled LG Optimus 3D. AT&T will be launching this “in the coming months” with its pricing still yet to be known. The HTC HD7S, meanwhile, is a slightly modified version of the HTC HD7 that’s already available on T-Mobile. Hardware’s still the same, but AT&T’s version does come preloaded with the U-Verse Mobile app and its Windows Phone 7 version already features copy/paste functionality. This one is expected to roll out “in the coming weeks.”

SaskTel puts up iPhone 4 registration page
We know that the iPhone 4 is finally coming to SaskTel. When it will be released is still a mystery, but those planning to get one can already let their voices be heard as SaskTel’s iPhone 4 registration page is now live. They’re way late in joining the iPhone 4 party in Canada, but as the old saying goes; better late than never.

Google Nexus S 4G with WiMAX announced for Sprint: coming this spring for $200
WiMAX and CDMA/EV-Do connectivity aside, the newly announced Nexus S 4G is basically one and the same as the Nexus S coming to Canada. However, one thing this baby has over the GSM Nexus S is a confirmed release date and price. The Nexus S 4G will be debuting “this spring” with a retail price of $199.99 on a 2-yr contract.
