Move sees the second phase of channel partner programme announced last August by the operator, opening up the network to fixed and IT resellers
O2 has entered the second phase of its plans to work with fixed resellers with the launch of the Joined Up Communications Wholesale Partner Channel programme.
Last August O2 launched the Joined Up Communications Partner Programme with three partners becoming aggregators, offering a white label mobile service to their fixed line customers.
The new programme will see 20 fixed line partners sign a mobile relationship to trade exclusively with O2 at a wholesale level, offering both the operator’s mobile and fixed broadband services.
Broadband services will be provided by O2 wholly owned subsidiary BE. The network said partners have committed to putting a substantial amount of their wholesale broadband business through O2.
Wholesale partners currently signed up include Actimax, Performance Telecom, Executel, Peach Telecom, ICS, Comtact, Sears Communications, 2 Circles, IP Integration, Universal Telecom, Talk Straight, Modern Communications and Ardencomm. O2 said a number of other partners are in negotiations and will be announced in the coming weeks.
It added partners will benefit from elements of current O2 partner programmes along with a direct relationship that will allow them to own and bill their own customers with a range of O2 mobile and data products and services.
Benefits include specialised business training and development and access to channel marketing resources and online marketing toolkit.
O2 head of partners Maggie Kennedy said: “Since we announced our Joined Up Communications Channel Partner programme we have already seen a substantial growth in the reseller market. This new programme for wholesale partners will continue our journey to become the operator of choice for all types of service in the channel.”
