Verizon Wireless announced today that it is bringing the world’s first large-scale 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Huntsville, AL; Augusta, GA; Scranton Wilkes-Barre, PA; Springfield, MA; Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro-Winston, and Salem-High Point, N.C; and Knoxville, TN on July 21.
The deployment of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE in these cities also provides LTE coverage throughout the surrounding areas. Residents in these areas with 4G LTE smartphones, laptop modems and hotspots will be able to take advantage of speeds up to 10 times faster than the company’s 3G network.
