Swype has announced via email that its long-promised beta version of Swype 3.0 is now available after a premature announcement earlier this week which led to earlier than expected media coverage and confusion after the beta version was not available until today.
The new Swype beta features the new Tap Correction engine and the new Horizontal Word Choice List replacing the popup word choice window along with expanded device display compatibility (HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA, qHD screen sizes) and a Honeycomb-only WXGA version for Android tablets, with what it calls a "moveable keyboard".
Fixes for the beta include license issues when going into airplane mode on CDMA devices, support for Wi-Fi only Android devices and a fix for licensing issues after reboot on select devices.
