O2 appoints new head of strategy

O2 promotes Nick Lynch to head of strategy as it prepares to consolidate “success in communications” and move into new areas

O2 has promoted its senior strategy manager Nick Lynch to head of strategy.

Lynch (pictured), who joined O2 from strategy consultant firm Bain & Company in 2008 will be tasked with shaping the operator’s long term strategic direction.

Lynch has also worked for Deloitte Consulting, and will continue to report to O2 new business development director Tim Sefton, but will eventually report to the O2 finance director when this position is filled in due course.

Speaking about Lynch’s appointment Sefton said: “I’m particularly pleased that we’ve been able to promote internally to fill this role, underlining the strength in depth in our team.

“Nick will play a key role in shaping our success as we consolidate our success in communications and move into new areas in the future.”
