Android Market Now Has A Sony Ericsson Channel

If you own an Android smartphone and access the Android Market you be faced with the usual set of heading tags such as Games, Apps, and My apps, but if you own a Sony Ericsson Android handset that layout will be different.

Why? Well according to an article over on Engadget by way of the Sony Ericsson Blog, the company has now launched a Sony Ericsson specific channel to the Android Market where apparently users can locate Xperia specific apps.

The new Sony Ericsson channel means that the My apps header has been given the order of the boot in favour of the Sony Ericsson header, so if you are a Sony Ericsson handset user you’ll need to access your menu to gain access to your own apps.

It appears that Sony Ericsson is the first handset manufacturer to slap their own channel on the Android Market, but apparently the change is carrier dependant, so just so you don’t get all hot and bothered if you don’t see it, there’s a chance you may not see the switch.
