Ah the Apple rumours continue to roll out about their next generation iPhone, this time round word has it that the iPhone 5 may not look like the iPhone 4 at all, but would rather take on a form resembling the iPod Touch.
According to an article over on Ubergizmo, Joshua Topolsky of This Is My Next says according to sources the iPhone 5 will be “a completely redesigned handset” an iOS handset that looks “more like the iPod touch than the iPhone 4.”
So based on what the sources have said Topolsky say the iPhone 5 may come out to play sporting a 3.7-inch edge-to-edge display, something that has been rumoured for a while now, a chassis along the lines of a “teardrop,” and a multitouch gesture based home button.
The image is of course a mock up, but Topolsky says the iPhone 5 will be a thinner handset than the iPhone 4, (maybe Apple is hoping to gain back that world’s thinnest smartphone title) with the screen being boned glass.
However apparently the increased screen size would mean a drop in pixels per inch to 326 x 312 but this would still qualify as Retina Display.
Of course all this is just pure speculation as I’m fairly sure Apple has managed to keep a tight lid on anything to do with the iPhone 5, and as we all know Apple is quite good at diverting people from the truth when it comes to Apple gear, this should be treated as such until such times as firm evidence is found.
