Cheap calls to seven new countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa now available through a new bolt on
O2 has added a further seven countries to its low cost international calling service as it looks to continue its push to take advantage of this multi-million pound market.
Customers will be able to call mobiles in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Ghana, Iraq and Bulgaria through the ‘International Extras’ bolt on. All of these countries are not currently covered by O2′s ‘International Favourites’ bolt on.
Callers will be given up to 260 mobile minutes for 10 when they purchase the bolt on by texting the country name along with a special short code to O2.
O2 consumer general manager Gary Booker said: “We know that the vast majority of calls made to these countries are made to mobile numbers. So we have created a product to bring the best value to our customers who want to stay in touch with their family and friends in these countries.
“Our portfolio of international calling products now means that wherever a customer wants to phone, we can offer a great value calling rate and an open and honest approach with no hidden charges.”
International Extras joins O2’s growing portfolio of international calling products powered by the Jajah voice over IP (VoIP) platform.
Its ‘International Favourites bolt on offers 3000 minutes to three numbers in over 60 countries for 10.21 per month and it recently launched its ‘Calling Card’ product which offers targeted at people wish to call abroad without using a bolt on.
