SAMWELL to Launch New 7 inch Rugged Tablet PC SAMWELL to Launch New 7 inch Rugged Tablet PC SAMWELL is going to launch the thinnest, lightest 7-inch Industrial Panel PC for RUGGEDBOOK SR810, using the latest Intel CPU Oak Trail Platform, the maximum eight-hour hot-swappable battery, 3G, full-functional wireless feature, bluetooth, WIFI, also can be optional barcode scanner, RFID and other applications, built-in USB, Micro SD, HDMI, Microphone & earphone.SR810 meets MIL-STD-810G Army Regulation and IP65 waterproof/ dustproof testing certification, especially the OS supports Windows 7 Pro & Android system, its original designed docking supports two USB and one RJ45 and RS232.

This tablet is IP65 and MIL-STD-810G compliant, meaning it can operate in extreme temperatures. In addition, the device can supposedly withstand multiple free drops (26 times including all corners and sides) and is fully protected against vibration, as well as dust and water ingress.

 

Configuration

 

The SR810 will reportedly be powered by an Oak Trail Intel Atom (Lincroft) central processing unit with Whitney Point PCH. Furthermore, it will be equipped with the company’s thinnest and lightest 7-inch LED-backlit widescreen display so far. The capacitive multi-touch enabled panel has a maximum supported resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.

 

According to the producer, this rugged Tablet PC will ship with 2GB of internal memory and a solid-state drive interface. Moreover, customers will be able to take advantage of a number of physical buttons including a power button, function keys, along with storage status and battery status indicators.

 

Connectivity

 

Thanks to the built-in Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n (or an optional WWAN with GPS antenna) and Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR, users can stay connected. I/O features include one USB (with Power-off charging), earphone/microphone jacks, an HDMI output and docking connectors. The docking station itself offers two more USB ports, charge bay and RS-232 connectivity.

 

There are two integrated cameras for video conferencing – one on the back of the device (5MP with Auto Focus and LED flash) and a 2MP one on the front.

 

Other specs

 

The RUGGEDBOOK SR810 will deliver a dual-boot OS configuration as the model ships with both Windows 7 and Android. In addition, this Tablet PC supposedly measures less than 20mm and has a starting weight of about 500g with the built-in hot-swappable Lithium-ion battery (6 hours runtime).

 

The fan-less device can also be purchased with optional barcode scanner & imager and an RFID reader. Reportedly, Samwell Group will start mass producing the SR810 in October of this year.
